pirada cultural e a super lua

noite de lua cheia no perigeu, milhares de quilômetros mais próxima de nós, numa noite sem nuvens e de diversas pequenas histórias e causos. escreveria um conto se não fosse desprovido de tal talento. te pouparei, então. sobre a virada cultural 2012 com twinpines, iron butterfly, mutantes, morphine, suicidal tendencies e titãs, você encontra bastante coisa nesse mundo virtual. aliás, que show dos titãs! mas, não tem como competir com a super lua. reinou absoluta, como uma luz gigante a iluminar a avenida são joão. grande, sensual, única. 

suicidal tendencies na virada cultural 2012

fucei e fucei, mas não consegui encontrar uma foto da banda inteira da formação do primeiro álbum do suicidal tendencies. então peguei essa foto emprestada do blog suicidal maniac. de boa, quer saber tudo sobre os caras, dê uma fuçada lá. da esquerda pra direita: louiche mayorga (baixo), grant estes (guitarra), amery smith (bateria) e mike muir (vocal). esses são os responsáveis por um dos discos mais inovadores da época. o álbum, de mesmo nome da banda, foi lançado em 1983. estavam ali criando um estilo, um gênero. começou ali o skate punk. lembro que tive um aluno que andava de skate e pra minha surpresa ele não conhecia suicidal tendencies. eu gravei tudo dos caras pra ele. o moleque ficou bagunçado. não parava de ouvir. não é pra menos, tem tudo a ver. através do suicidal tendencies conheci muita coisa de skate, mesmo não andando. o suicidal é conhecido por revelar vários músicos fudidos. quem ouve, sabe. a guitarra de grant estes agradava tanto os fãs de metal como os de hardcore. quando conheci a banda, no início dos anos 90, a formação já tinha mudado algumas vezes. mas eu cresci ouvindo esses caras, mesmo não sendo minha banda preferida. e hoje em dia escuto e prefiro infectious grooves. mas isso não diminui em nada o quanto será demais ver suicidal tendencies ali na avenida são joão, na virada cultural 2012. tô no aquecimento!

virada cultural 2011 [revisited]

there was nothing i was dying to see. lots of interesting attractions, but nothing really worth seeing. well, that's just me saying. yet, there i was again. and like all the other times i was there i had the same feeling: well, how nice to be here! i could´ve planned what i was going to see but this time i decided to just walk around and see what was gonna happen. the home base was leo's place, just like last year. it's nice to be there, to see good friends you usually meet up once or twice a year. sad in a way, but that's what it is. looking over the window one could catch a glimpse of what was happening on palco são joão, one of the many stages all over downtown. it felt good to be there, to see the many bands playing afro and latin rhythms, and the reggae people with their movements, their dancing and their style, and to be with people you like. skatalites was the one i enjoyed most. really nice vibe if i'm to say.

after some hours sleep and a nice wash up, on the streets of a sunny and hot sunday morning i was. this time by myself. i headed towards vale do anhangabaú just on time to see beatles 4ever starting to play the white album vol.1. thumbs up! the birds flying low over the stage to the sound of dear prudence and while my guitar gently weeps. special moment! and also as gently came the afternoon. the band playing the abbey road album and it's really hard not to say that this is one of the best albums of all times. big thumbs up for something and the best one: i want you (she's so heavy). fantastic!

Virada Cultural 2010 [revisited]

The Temptations e Double You de madrugada, Pitty de manhã cedinho, Raimundos com Tico Santa Cruz no vocal e CPM22 tocando só Ramones. Foi isso que vi na Virada Cultural 2010. A programação foi bem variada incluindo bandas do naipe do Living Colour, que acabei não assistindo. De graça e melhor do que o SWU.
